I found several references to similar issues in which external devices do not work after resume from sleep or hibernation and it seems not to be a hardware problem but an issue related to the operating system, prior Windows versions to Windows 10 have documentation about it and even Microsoft made patches available to resolve it, most of the issues I found were USB host adapter related and of course USB devices associated to it. I have been researching a lot about this issue and even my peers in other geographic areas have been trying to help with no results, they at least were able to replicate the issue once, but they couldn't make it happen again which doesn't really help. I concurred with you that this is Intel problem (either BIOS or IR driver) so l hope they will see this post and response soon.

I can display the key code from the XBOX One media remote with the "showkey.exe" program but not with my MCE/RC-6 remote ! I also found that the NUC is working fine with an XBOX One media remote (remote code 04000). I confirm this by using a small utility program call "showkey.exe" installed on the NUC. My troubleshooting revealed that after Windows is loaded, somehow it causes the NUC to stop recognize the standard MCE/RC-6 IR remote and none of the buttons works (including the power button). Unfortunately, the NUC will not allow me to go back to the original BIOS version 0046. A few days ago, I noticed a newer BIOS version 0048 on Intel's website so I upgraded the NUC to this version but it does not fix the problem.

Re-installed Windows 10 Pro and together with all the latest drivers from Intel website but same problem remain. I can still power on the NUC with this same remote but after Windows 10 loaded, I completely lost control of the NUC, none of the standard media buttons work and I can no longer power off the NUC with the same remote. I was able to power on/off the NUC with this standard IR remote without problem and all the standard media buttons on the remote worked as they supposes to.Ībout 3 weeks ago, I noticed a new BIOS version 0047 on Intel website so I upgraded the NUC to this newer version and that when problem with the remote started ! Note: I use the Microsoft standard IR MCE/RC-6 remote (remote code 01272). I bought the NUC7i5BNK about 2 months ago and everything was working fine (including the remote). I have the same NUC as yours and have similar problem so you are not alone. INTEL, I believe in your support and your products.

The symbol means it's disconnected.Īfter a reboot. ITECIR IR Receiver is gone.Īfter clicking on: view/ show hidden. After Startup: ITECIR IR Reciver can be found at the device manager. You will see, the ITECIR IR Receiver dissapears. Please test only the NUC and check the device manager regularely. In the last thread Intel unfortunately testet a nonsensical setup.

The connnected AVR and TV doen't have importance I think. I buyed a Logitech Harmony Elite to start and shutdown the NUC over IR and control it by bluetooth. Why nobody cares? I think the most people don't use the IR Receiver, so it's no problem for them. After a while of using the NUC the ITECIR IR Receiver is with high probability disconnected. But I want to shut it down over infrared doesn't work most times.

Why I think it's a driver issue? Starting the NUC over IR works 100%. When you click on settings, the device shows it's disconnected. When you click on view/ show hidden in the device manager, it will be shown. Why I know this? Well, the ITECIR IR Receiver sometimes is shown at the device manager at startup and sometimes it's not. On all 2017 Intel NUCs I've seen the ITECIR IR Receiver disonnects after a while or it starts with a disconnected IR Receiver. Like I said last time, I think it's a driver issue. I hope we will get more support this time. After the last thread about this issue was falsely closed, here is the new one.
